Film-it: Virtual Location Scout and Movie Production Planning Assistant for Film Industry in Sri Lanka

As part of our bachelor's final year research project, my team and I undertook extensive research, resulting in the publication of a research paper. Our study focused on the challenges faced by the Sri Lankan film industry, particularly the lack of local movies made due to the significant effort, time, and financial investment required. We developed "Film-it," an application designed to assist in location scouting and movie production planning, earning the title "The Virtual Location Scout and Movie Production Planning Assistant." This application has proven beneficial for Sri Lankan movie directors and producers, significantly reducing the time and cost associated with pre-production tasks. Major industry players believe that "Film-it" has the potential to elevate the Sri Lankan movie industry to a new level.
